Membership Benefits

The current affiliation fee is £40 (incl. of £10 affiliation fee to the C.B. of W.) per annum. This is due on 31 March in each year and must be paid by 30 June.

For those teams which exist only to participate in the Indoor Cricket Competition, a reduced Affiliation Fee of £5 per annum is due on 1 January each year.

The benefits to member clubs include:

1. Entry into the Welsh Cup Competition at no additional cost.

2. Help in applying for grant aid from SCW for appropriate projects, and endorsing such applications when considered justified.

3. The right to affiliate to E. & W.C.B. (see below).

4. Three Year Books at no additional cost.

5. Support for applications for Lottery and Lords Taverner's Grants.

The benefits of membership to individual members of affiliated clubs include:

1. Participation in all WCA competitions and activities.

2. Participation in Coaching Courses arranged by the Coaching Associations at which suitable members can be trained and may qualify as Coaches at the most advanced level.

3. When qualified, the right to join one of the Coaching Associations which have been set up.

4. Coaching from qualified Licensed Coaches through the Coaching Associations.

5. Consideration for selection for Welsh representative teams at National, E. & W.C.B., Minor Counties, Over 50 and Under 16 levels.

6. The opportunity to participate in E. & W.C.B. events (see below).

In addition WCA urges clubs to affiliate to E. & W.C.B. The membership fee for E. & W.C.B., which is £10, should be sent to WCA, which then remits the whole of this sum to E. & W.C.B. It should be clearly understood that the benefits set out below are only available to member clubs which are fully paid up members of both WCA and E. & W.C.B. Clubs affiliated to E. & W.C.B. and/or their members can share in the following benefits:

1. Insurance under very favourable terms through the E. & W.C.B. arranged group insurance scheme.

2. Participation in E. & W.C.B. Competitions for clubs and/or players:

The E. & W.C.B. County Championship

ECB National Club Cricket Championship

The Portman Building Society Under 15 National Club Championship

E. & W.C.B. Under 13 National Club Championship

The 50+ County Championship

NB. To participate in E. & W.C.B. Competitions, clubs must have affiliated to E. & W.C.B. as well as WCA. Only players of such affiliated clubs are eligible for selection for any Welsh National or Representative XI participating in any E. & W.C.B. competition.

3. The right to apply through WCA and E. & W.C.B. to the Lord’s Taverners for excellent bags of youth kit and for financial assistance towards the provision of non-turf wickets (forms of application for these grants are available from the Secretary of W.C.A. who can also give preliminary advice on grant matters).
