Ian Baber Tel: (01495) 751842 T The Premier Division was again won by Sully Centurions with Pentyrch finishing second and Usk third, Bridgend Town and Panteg were relegated to the First Division. Pentyrch won the League Champion Club Trophy with Newport Second and St Fagans Third. Player of the year was Richard Kaufmann of St Fagans and Max Scarr of Newport was the Young Cricketer of the year, Newport won the Welsh Cup beating Northop Hall in the Final held again at Abergavenny. The other League Divisional Winners were Abergavenny who gained promotion to the Premier Division from the First Division with Blackwood Town also gaining promotion as runners up. Radyr and Barry Athletic were relegated to the Second Division. Malpas won the Second Division with Welsh Asians second Malpas were promoted to the First Division, The Welsh Asians were denied promotion because their facilities had not been upgraded to the required standard. Cefn Forest and Pontymister were relegated to the Welsh Club Cricket Conference and replaced by Cardiff Gymkhana and Cregiau who gained promotion from the Welsh Club Cricket Conference. The Second Team Competition, Premier Division was won by Cardiff with Chepstow second, Penarth and Miskin Manor were relegated. Blackwood Town won the First Division with Tondu second , Barry Athletic and Machen were relegated. Division Two was won by Brecon with Welsh Asians second, Cefn Forest and Pontymister were relegated to the Welsh Club Cricket Conference with their First Teams. The Sunday Third Team League table was headed by Panteg Thirds with Pentyrch Thirds runners up. |
