As elsewhere, the wet weather later in the summer disrupted the programme, although the consequences varied enormously from place to place.  The withdrawal of Aberporth immediately prior to the season caused some problems but, otherwise, the planned programme went ahead.

Each team played each other once, at which point the competition split into two sections, with the top six teams playing each other again and the lower five doing the same.  The end result was that Aberystwyth won the competition for the fifth consecutive year, although they were twice defeated by UWA Commoners.  Commoners twice failed to press home for wins and were also fined points for failing to provide an umpire, on some occasions.  Otherwise they might have been celebrating their first Championship win.  Tregaron proved to be the strongest side in the lower half.

Of some concern is the number of matches conceded to the opposition – 5 in 2009, involving three clubs.
